Here it is. I said I'd aim for the end of the month in this image's preview, and the end of the month is here. Right on schedule.

"So just what is it, Spencer?" you may ask. Sit down, my children, and I'll explain. There's a really fun online RPG out there called Kingdom of Loathing. It pokes fun at just about everything in the course of the game, and is downright hilarious to boot. For example, take the six character classes: Pastamancers, Saucerors, Disco Bandits, Accordion Thieves, Seal Clubbers and Turtle Tamers. Pretty wacky.

Anyway, to the point. I like the game a lot-- lots and lots-- so I thought I'd draw the Pastamancer character as I invisioned it. Yes, I know there are some flaws, notably in the left arm (right to the viewer) and in the shading. But I'm pretty darn pleased with the way this one ended up, because I put a lot of work into it*.

This is actually a redraw of a drawing I started a few months back, of the same character but in a much less enthused posed. It had even more problems. I'll scan it and Scrapitize it for reference, but believe me, this one's much better.

You can expect more Kingdom of Loathing stuff eventually; I liked drawing this one, and there's a whole world of great things to draw.

The end.

* Seriously. If you don't believe me, please focus your attention on the three rings of mystical runes emerging from his pasta spoon. Those runes took a lot of time, because if I inked them directly over the pencil, the lead would show through the red ink, and ruin it just a little. This meant that I had to erase the pencil just enough so that I could see and trace the original outlines, but not so much that they disappeared completely. On top of that, I devised a whole alphabet-- err, rather, a partial one-- of runes that vaguely resembled the English characters and actually wrote things with it in the rings. I thought it was so clever until I realized that nobody is going to spend that much time looking at the piece. If you want to prove me wrong and give it a shot, though, go ahead. I'm interested to see what you come up with.
